A WARRINGTON street dance group scooped 11 awards at the UK Cheerleading Association’s championships.
IndepenDANCE, based at Evans House, Warrington, took the titles in a tough competition held in Stoke.
The club entered 10 teams in different age groups and each won their category. IndepenDance then won an award for Overall Contribution to Street Dance – meaning the club came home with 11 trophies.
Choreographers are Jennifer Gittins and Catherine Butler and dancers are aged from seven to 40 plus.
Jennifer said: “I couldn’t believe our results. I am really proud of the dancers, they all did really well.”
Earlier this year the group was chosen by the association to perform at Disneyland in Florida – and they are hoping their results mean they will be selected again for the trip next year.
