A LUNCHEON club which provides meals for the housebound and elderly has cancelled its annual Christmas event because of the icy conditions.
The Oughtington Community Centre annual Christmas party, scheduled to take place on Thursday, has been cancelled because of the snow and ice outside the homes of local pensioners.
Organiser Joyce Penlington said: “It is with great regret we have decided to cancel the Christmas luncheon because it would be far too dangerous for the pensioners to come out.
“But the good news is we will be holding the event in the New Year once the weather conditions improve.”
The luncheon club meets once a week providing free meals to the housebound and eldelry living in the Lymm area.
