Refuse collection services hit

TOWN Hall bosses at Warrington have decided to suspend collection of garden waste because of difficulties caused by the severe weather.
Two of the waste collection vehicles have had to be taken out of service for safety reasons and because of the need to maintain refuse collection as a priority, the garden waste vehicles had been switched to general refuse collection.
Due to delays caused by the weather, some properties have not had their waste collected on the scheduled day but collection teams hope to return to them the following day.
St Barnabas CE Primary School, in Collin Street, was forced to close earlier in the week because of a heating breakdown. But it has now re-opened
The council says all primary routes have been gritted and secondary routes were treated twice during the week.
