SCHOOLCHILDREN from throughout Warrington will join the Northern Chamber Orchestra on stage at the Parr Hall for a special Christmas concert.
The orchestra will perform The Manchester Carols by composer Sasha Johnson Manning and Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy. It is a collection of 12 carols linked with an entertaining narration to reshape and modernise the Christmas story.
Conductor Richard Tanner will have almost 200 singers on stage including The Renaissance Singers from Blackburn Cathedral, where he is director of music. They will be joined by choirs from Great Sankey, Twiss Green and Westbrook Old Hall Primary Schools and the Warrington Singers, which have been trained by Stephen Ferrelly from Lymm High School.
As well as the usual orchestra of strings and woodwind, Sasha has written parts for harp, two recorders and plenty of percussion.
The event will be on Wednesday December 15 at 7.30pm. More details from the box office on 01925 442345 or online at www.pyramidparrhall.com
