Gingerbread men bring cheer

A WARRINGTON girl has designed the giant gingerbread men which are bringing festive cheer to shoppers in the town.
Ella Pollard, 12, from Padgate, won the Big Christmas Art Competition run by Golden Square shopping centre.
Her design has been transformed into 12-feet high inflatable Christmas decorations towering above shoppers in the mall.
The creative competition was to design a giant bespoke decoration to be recreated as a life-size inflatable by the shopping centre. Her design was chosen and will be decorating the centre during the festive season.
The competition was the first of its kind for the centre and aimed to give children from across Warrington the opportunity to personalise this year’s decorations with their own designs.
As part of her prize Ella was also invited to meet X Factor star Treyc Cohen and help Treyc switch on the Christmas lights.
Ian Cox, marketing manager of Golden Square said: “We’re delighted with the response to our Christmas Art competition, what better way to decorate the centre!
“Ella’s gingerbread design looks fantastic and certainly gives the centre that festive feeling.”
