Ex-millionaire author to visit town

AUTHOR Shaun Attwood, a former stock-market millionaire who served time in the jail with the highest death rate in America, is to visit Warrington.
He will be signing his book “Hard Time” at Waterstones bookshop between 11am and 3pm on Friday (November 19).
Born and raised in Widnes, Shaun, 42, moved to Arizona in 1991, where he worked his way up to become a top producing stockbroker and then a tech-stock millionaire during the dot.com bubble.
But he also led a double life. Having been a raver at clubs such as Legends in Warrington in the early 90s, he took his love of dance music to the States where he became heavily involved in club drugs.
He was arrested in 2002 and, on remand for 26 months, he started one of the first jail blogs, drawing attention to the conditions in the jail system. He eventually served almost six years.
