A RISK assessment is to be carried out before new goal posts are put up in a Stockton Heath playing field.
The parish council heard the borough council would provide “rustic” goal posts at the marked football area in Mill Lane.
Chairman Coun Graham Roughsedge said the posts were “like cut down telegraph poles.”
Coun Tudor Pole wanted to ensure the posts could be removed, to allow for events for the annual village festival.
Coun Stephen Taylor suggested the parish council, which owns the land, could be liable if anyone injured themselves on the posts.
Clerk Peter Briggs agreed to do a risk assessment on the project and to check if the posts could be removed for the festival.
