Bus company wins training award

WARRINGTON Borough Transport has won a prestigious national training award in recognition of their outstanding contribution and commitment to training, learning and development in the workplace.
Operations director Charlie Shannon and HR manager Tony Hindle were presented with the award at a ceremony in Manchester and were recognised in the large employer award category for “improving bus travel by training drivers.
Run on behalf of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) the awards inspire and encourage UK industry to invest in training and development as a route to achieving outstanding organisational and individual success.
WBT chairman Les Hoyle said: “I’m absolutely delighted at receiving this award, which is recognition for all the hard work that goes into training of our employees”.
Managing director David Squire (pictured)added: ” I’m very proud of this achievement. We are locally owned and have won this award against stiff competition from a number of large well known companies with huge resources.
“I’m particularly proud of our staff and partner organizations that deliver training to our workforce.”
