Street artist to exhibit in town

A FAMOUS New York-based street artist has chosen Warrington as the venue for his first-ever solo show in the UK.
The exhibition by Elbow-Toe, real name Brian Adam Douglas, runs from Saturday December 4 until Saturday February 19 next year.
There will be a special preview, with the chance to meet the artist, on Thursday December 2 from 7 to 9pm.
He chose Warrington after last year’s (R)Evolution of Urban Art exhibition was nominated for a national award, as one of the top five exhibitions in the country.
Brian has exhibited internationally and he is regarded as one of the world’s top street artists. After the Warrington exhibition this never-before-seen work will go on to London and New York.
He is known for his introspective urban art and his work is primarily executed in collage. While his work has a unique style it draws on a rich history of figurative painting and has qualities reminiscent of Freud, Bacon and Soutine.
He will also be available on Friday December 3 to talk about his work, but this will be through booked sessions only.
