Requiem Mass for Alderman

A REQUIEM Mass for the late Honorary Alderman Terry Whelan – whose death was reported by Warrington-Worldwide yesterday – will take place on Tuesday (November 2) at 9am.
It will take place at St Stephen’s RC Church, Howson Road, Orford, where he had been a member for many years.
Burial will take place afterwards at Warrington Cemetery.
The former councillor, who stepped down from the borough council only in May, was 86. He had served on the council for a total of 37 years, representing Hulme Ward, Poulton Ward and, for the past 15 years, Orford Ward.
He had served on a number of committees including planning – of which he was chairman for a time – leisure and personnel.
Pre-deceased by his wife Mary, he leaves two daughters, Catherine and Claire, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Family flowers only have been requested. Donations to St Joseph’s Family Centre, may be sent, c/o Claire Joseph, 4 Ennerdale Avenue, Orford, Warrington, WA2 9JY.
