Tips on saving energy

ENERGY saving tips are being offered to Warrington people during a special event this week.
The borough council is supporting Energy Saving Week with tips including how to get free insulation and saving money by putting lids on pans when cooking.
The Energy Savings Trust is giving groups and residents information on how to reduce energy use, whether at home, at work, or travelling.
Each day focuses on a different theme after the launch on Monday.
They are as follows: Wednesday: micro-generation; Thursday: Energy Saving Trust recommended; and Friday: transport.
Coun Mike Biggin, the borough council’s executive member for climate change and public protection, said: “Everyone can do something during energy savings week to take control of their energy use, whether it’s walking or using the bus service, instead of taking the car or investing in cavity wall insulation.
“I would encourage residents to visit the council’s eco-hut for advice on reducing your energy bills. Remember, saving energy saves money.”
Visitors are welcome to the Eco Hut, located in the back hall of Warrington Market. It is open to visitors for free and impartial domestic energy efficiency advice, and anyone interested should call 657763 to check opening times.
