A NEW short stay fee paying town centre car park is to open at Warrington on Monday, November 1.
The site, off Sankey Street is adjacent to the Town Hall, at the rear of Bank House. It will offer 70 spaces from Monday to Friday and 95 at weekends.
Hours of operation will 8am to 6pm, seven days a week and the cost will be: up to one hour £1, one to two hours £1.50. Maximum stay of two hours.
Council chiefs believe the facility will increase the number of spaces available and free up spaces in other areas of the town, providing improved access to local shops and businesses.
Coun Alan Litton, the council’s executive member for environment and transport said: “We are delighted to be able to increase the amount of parking available to shoppers and visitors to the town centre, particularly in the run up to the busy Christmas season.”

  1. It wouldn’t be short stay then 🙂 Could the council employees have been alowed to use it though instead fo them having to use the first 2 floors of the multi storey carpark ?
