WARRINGTON North MP Helen Jones called for more high-tech jobs for the town after she visited offices on the Birchwood Science Park.
She toured the Hewlett-Packard, meeting site manager Peter Lloyd-Brown and other staff.
Afterwards she said: “I was delighted to be able to see for myself the high-skill, high-tech work that is undertaken at the site. The staff at Warrington undertake IT services work for multiple commercial clients and government departments.
“The high-skilled, well-paid jobs at Hewlett-Packard are exactly the type of jobs that I want to see created in Warrington North for local people.
“We need to diversify the local economy and make sure that the industries and companies of the future choose Warrington as the place to do business. I am working hard to make sure that the Omega site delivers these types of jobs.”
