Town centre has the X-Factor!

WARRINGTON town centre will again experience the X-factor in the countdown to Christmas, with one of the finalists of the hit Tv show switching on the lights.
The person switching on the lights on Thursday November 18 will be the contestant knocked out of the show the previous weekend.
The switch on will take place between 5.30pm-7.30pm in the Old Market Place, Golden Square with a big screen on Bridge Street. There will be an evening of family entertainment with special guest Bob the Builder also in attendance. Advance tickets are required to guarantee admission to Old Market Place. Late night shopping will take place every Thursday from November 18 – 18 December 18 and from Monday 20 – Thursday 23 December 9am – 9pm
There will be free entry to Golden Square car-park after 4pm and free exit from council car-parks after 6.30pm.
There will be Sunday shopping every Sunday – 11am – 5pm with shops open throughout the town centre. Free parking every Sunday at Cockhedge, Golden Square and council car parks. Warrington Market will be open Sundays in December up until Christmas.
A Free park and ride scheme is also in operation every Saturday from November 13 until December 18, 9.30am -6pm. There will be two free services from secure car parks north and south of the town centre. Buses every eight minutes to and from the Bus Interchange.

Warrington’s vintage Christmas will take place on Saturday, November 20 10am – 4pm at Warrington Market, Time Square and Market Gate. Over 30 specialist traders will be in the market events hall with the best in retro fashion, handicrafts and collectables. Vintage vehicle display in Time Square and an ice sculpture at Market Gate.
The Christmas market will be on Saturday, November 27 10am – 4pm at Warrington Market Forecourt, Time Square and Market Gate. The three wise men are doing their shopping at Warrington’s Christmas Market. Come and meet them and their camels.
On Saturday November 27 a Classical Music Recital take splace at Holy Trinity Church, Sankey Street from 12.30pm -1.15pm while a Christmas craft fayre is on in the Old Market Place Golden Square.
A Christmas grotto features in Warrington from Saturday, November 27 and weekends in December until Xmas. Contact Warrington Disability Partnership for opening times on 01925 240855.
Meanwhile there will be special lunchtime school choir concerts on weekdays from Monday 1 December 1 – 17 December in Golden Square.
The Salvation Army Band will be performing at Market Gate on each Saturday in December from 10am-12 noon and on Christmas eve.
A Warrington lantern parade will take place on Thursday, December 16, 6pm – 7.30pm starting at the Old Market Place, Golden Square, taking in Horsemarket Street and Bridge Street before returning to Golden Square.
Pyramid and Parr Hall highlights include Ken Dodd Christmas happiness show on Friday December 10, Sleeping Beauty – Vienna Festival Ballet on Saturday December 11, Northern Chamber Orchestra – Manchester Carols Wednesday December 15 Warrington Male Voice Choir on Friday 17, Saturday 18 December and the Christmas Comedy Store Saturday 18 December
