Mobile phone giants seek new mast

0

MOBILE phone giants Vodafone and Telefonica O2 are jointly seeking planning consent to replace an existing mast at Warrington with a taller one.
The application, involving an existing communications station in Widnes Road, Penketh, would replace a 12.5m high mast with one 15m high.
Objections have been lodged by the parish council and also by two nearby residents.
But another resident supports the application.
Planning officers are recommending the application be approved.
They say the mast will not have an significant increased impact on the area compared with the existing mast.
In addition, a mast shared by two operators on the site will reduce the need for a new mast in a more densely populated part of Warrington.
