Advice workshop for parents

0

WARRINGTON parents who want to help their children make the right decisions over study options at school are being invited to a special interactive workshop.
More than two thirds of pupils at the borough’s schools seek advice from parents or guardians when choosing their options and, because opportunities have changed dramatically in recent years, some parents may struggle.
So the borough council has organised an event at Warrington Collegiate on Wednesday, October 20, specifically aimed at parents of Year Nine pupils.
There will be a series of live, interactive performances to help the adults understand the decisions their children will be making.
The free show looks to explain the numerous learning options available and their differences, including GCSEs, BETCs, young apprenticeships, the diploma and Xtra options.
Education professionals will also be on hand to offer informal advice.
Performances will take place at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm.
Free places can be reserved by calling 01925 443181 or emailing [email protected]
Parents and children are invited to attend.
