Six new deputy lieutenants

SIX new Deputy Lieutenants for Cheshire have been appointed – including former pop promoter Pete Waterman.
Warrington-based David Briggs, the Lord Lieutenant has made the six appointments – Robert Davis, Bill Holroyd, Tom O’Brien, Michael Oliver, Joelle Warren and Peter Waterman.
Robert Davis is chief executive officer of EA Technology Group based at Capenhurst, president of the Institute of Asset Management, chairman of the North West Enterprise Forum and chairman of the Cheshire and Warrington Enterprise Commission.
Bill Holroyd of Oakmere is the founder chairman of the charity ONSIDE which aims to build a network of 21st century youth centres across the region giving young people top quality, safe and affordable places to go to in their leisure time.
Brigadier Tom O’Brien has been director reserves (Army) since 2009. He was appointed Aide de Camp to the Queen in 2004.
Michael Oliver is the founding chairman of Oliver Valves, Oliver Valvetek and Oliver Twinsafe based in Knutsford.
Joelle Warren of Alsager has been a governor of Manchester Metropolitan University since 2001 and since 2008 has been deputy chairman.
Dr Pete Waterman of Daresbury is an ambassador for The Prince’s Trust and for Community Service Volunteers. He is patron of the Macmillan Centre at Halton Hospital and president of the Waterman Railway Heritage Trust. He was awarded the OBE in 2005 for services to the music industry.
