School reunion
A REUNION of former pupils of Warrington’s Orford Secondary Modern School from the 1969-1974 period is to take place at Alford Hall,
Manchester Road, Warrington, on Friday, October 15 at 8pm. Anyone interested in attending should call Sheila

Grants awarded
GRANTS totalling £1,050 have been made by Appleton Parish Council to two local organisations.
A grant of £1,000 was given to the 21st Warrington 1st Appleton Scout Group. Money will go towards the cost of a £7,500 high security fence to the car park side and rear of their premises off Dudlow Green Road. A further grant of £50 was given towards prizes at the Victoria Park Experience (VPX) a youth event organised by Cheshire Police.
Landscaping at shops
LANDSCAPING work at a cost of £835 will be carried out on the northern side of the Bridge Lane shops in Appleton. New trees, bedding plants and a lawn will be provided. The work, plus more than £500 a year for maintenance and new plants, was approved by Appleton Parish Council.
Volunteers wanted
RANGERS at Sankey Valley Park would welcome some help from volunteers when they tackle overgrown reeds in the park’s wetland nature reserve on October 17. Anyone aged over 16 should go along between 10am and 3pm.
Coffee shop
A COFFEE shop,open on weekdays mornings, is the latest attraction at Penkth Methodist Church. Proceeds go to the church building fund.
