Town aim to create history!

WARRINGTON Town FC will be looking to create history tomorrow, Saturday, when they travel to Shepshed Dynamo in the preliminary round of the F.A Trophy.
If Joey Dunn’s men avoid defeat it means they will create a new club record of 13 games unbeaten.
The team have already equalled the previous best run of 12 games unbeaten, which was achieved way back in the 1955-56 when the club played as Stockton Heath with England World Cup winner Roger Hunt (pictured) a member of the team!
It would be a great achievement considering Town have played table topping Witton Albion and promotion favourites Chester during their current unbeaten run and avoided defeat in three rounds of the FA Cup, all drawn away from home.
With Shepshed struggling near the bottom of the Evo-Stik Southern league Warrington will travel in confidence but take nothing for granted.
They are likely to be without leading scorer Tony Evans who suffered an injured knee in the act of scoring during Tuesday night’s 4-2 FA Cup replay victory over Bamber Bridge. They will also be without midfielder Levi Kennedy who has bid a fond farewell from the club to start a new life in Dubai.
But the club has plenty of strength in depth with former Premier League player Gareth Farrelly set to return from injury.
It has been a hectic start to the season with matches coming thick and fast, with a league fixture scheduled to take place at Garforth Town next Tuesday, followed by next Saturday’s mouth-watering FA Cup 3rd qualifying round clash with Stalybridge Celtic from the Northern Conference visiting Cantilever Park.
