Bungled raid on school

POLICE are seeking information from the public following what is believed to be a bungled burglary at a Warrington school.
A skylight was damaged in the conservatory at Newchurch Primary School, Culcheth and police believe those responsible were trying to get into the building but fled when an alarm went off.
Serious criminal damage was also caused to concrete steps running from Warrington Road down to the school.
Flag stones were ripped up and thrown onto the steps, causing extensive damage.
The skylight was damaged between 4.30pm and 6pm on Sunday, September 12.
Four youths were seen in the area around the time of the incident – all believed to be aged between 15 and 18-years-old. One was wearing a white t-shirt, shorts and trainers. Another was wearing a red football top.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information, which might assist police enquiries, is urged to call the Warrington East Neighbourhood Policing Team on 0845 458 0000. Information can also be given anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
