THE A49 at Stretton, near Warrington, has re-opened after being closed for about three hours following an accident involving a heavy lorry this morning.
Police say the road re-opened to traffic at about 11.15am.
The crash occurred just after 8.15am when the lorry, laden with tinned tuna, overturned as it left the roundabout onto the A49, heading in the direction of Whitchurch.
The driver, a Polish man in his 40s, was at first thought to be trapped but managed to free himself.
Cheshire Police air support attended in the event that a casualty evacuation might be required.
