POLICE are increasing patrols at Warrington Bank Quay station to embrace neighbourhood policing.
Sergeant Andy Tomkins, Officer in Charge at Warrington, said: “As we continue to embed neighbourhood policing across the area my officers will be more and more visible at stations under our jurisdiction.
“Bank Quay is just one of those that will benefit from increased patrols and other activities such as station surgeries.
“It is important that the surrounding community, as well as rail passengers and staff, get to know their local officers.
“We want to know what matters to local people and I encourage rail users to speak to my officers and tell them about any issues – along with things we are doing well.”
Sgt Tomkins added: “Thankfully the railway is a safe environment and BTP works hard to keep it that way.
“But there are always issues that we perhaps haven’t considered and I want those with most experience of the network in and around Warrington – rail passengers and staff – to have a major say in the activity of officers.
“By working together BTP and the community can make a real difference and can make our railways even safer.”
