Concert in memory of marine

A special “Concert for Courage” takes place in Warrington tomorrow to raise funds for Help for Heroes in memory of local marine Steven Birdsall who was killed during active service in Afghanistan.
The event takes place at the Barrowhall Theatre, Great Sankey High School, Steven’s former school, from 7.00pm-11.00pm featuring a variety of local performers.
It has been organised by local singer Amy Nichols, whose boyfriend is also a marine. Tickets are £5 and all money will be going to Help for Heroes.
There will be a raffle with various prizes include a meal for two and a hairdressing voucher.
Some of the performers were in town centre last weekend performing at the Armed Service Day.
Rehearsals have been taking place all week and the event is being filmed witht he aim of sending the DVD to troops in various hospitals and those on tour.

Marine Birdsall died after being airlifted to hospital after being shot on patrol in Afghanistan in June.
