THE family of a motorcyclist who died in a collision in Warrington have paid tribute to him.
Michael Ryan, aged 60, was killed when his machine was involved in a crash on the M57 Manchester Road, Woolston, at its junction with Woolston Grange Avenue, at about 5.10pm on Thursday, August 12.
His black Suzuki Bandit motor cycle was in collision with a white Renault lorry.
The lorry driver was left shocked but uninjured.
Mr Ryan, a husband, father and grandfather, was a maintenance fitter for an engineering company in Warrington but lived in Salford. His family originated from Ireland although he was born in Irlam.
In a statement, his family said: “Michael loved motorbikes and anything to do with motorbikes.
“Michael was riding his own motorbike home when he was involved in the collision.
“He leaves a wife, two daughters, and four grand children with another on the way.
“Michael will be very sadly missed by his family and many, many friends.” Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision – in particular the driver of a grey or silver people carrier who was manoeuvring the roundabout prior to the collision occurring.
A spokesman said: “The driver of this van may be a key witness and police are asking them, if they recognise themselves, to come forward and make contact with the collision investigator Constable Ian Dodd of the Warrington Roads policing Unit on 0845 458 0000.”
