Theme park backs local company

WARRINGTON theme park Gulliver’s World has unveiled a new restaurant designed by a local company.
Diamond Lil’s Restaurant has been designed by Warrington company DV8 Designs, based in Birchwood Park.
The restaurant, located in the Western World area of the park, will offer families a varied choice of sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes and other light snacks and meals.
The emphasis will be on healthy eating and giving customers more choice when they visit Gulliver’s, as part of the theme park’s pledge to provide nutritional options.
The restaurant’s diner-style design includes a huge 30ft mural painted by local artist Carla Horne and specially imported genuine Wild West posters.
Gulliver’s managing director Julie Dalton said: “It’s important for us to work with local businesses like DV8 Designs, and we’re delighted with how the restaurant has turned out – we can’t wait for customers to see it.
“It offers our customers an alternative to the main restaurant and snack bars, and there will be plenty of healthy choices to suit the whole family.”
Managing Director of DV8 Designs Lee Birchall said: “It’s fantastic that Gulliver’s have had the confidence to work with a local architectural and interior design practice such as ours, rather than choose a nationally known practice to carry such an imaginative project.
“It goes to show Gulliver’s commitment and foresight to keep choosing local businesses, who intrinsically have Warrington’s interests at heart.”
Gulliver’s World has also opened a new ride this month – the Fire Engine ride is an interactive experience which lets children ride in fire engines with their own hose to shoot water and extinguish toy fires.

There is a lot of talent in and around Warrington, DV8 has a national reputation and it is great that large North West based organisations have the confidence to stick to local talent. Well done all!
