Car sales centre approved

PLANNERS at Warrington have given the green light for a new car sales centre -despite neighbours’ fears that it may cause serious traffic problems.
Members of the borough council’s planning sub-committee visited the site in Old Liverpool Road, Warrington before reaching their decision.
The scheme, put forward by Tony Miller, involves changing the use of a recently constructed industrial building by adding extra windows and closing off a service entrance.
A similar, earlier proposal was withdrawn after planners expressed concern that car transporters might have to loan and unload on Old Liverpool Road, interfering with the flow of traffic.
But the committee was told these concerns had now been met by proposals to relocate and widen the access
Nearby residents expressed concern about the likely traffic impact of the development and local councillor Pat Wright objected on the grounds of damage to residential amenity.
But planning officers said the principle of car sales was acceptable and was unlikely to cause more noise or visual harm that the current, authorised, industrial use.
Provision could be made on site for the delivery of vehicles with no harm to the safe and free flow of traffic along Old Liverpool Road.

  1. objections from residents…come on, where do you think you are Stockton heath?

you should know by now anywhere north of bridge foot is just a dumping ground for industry…if you want to live in houses surrounded by other houses you have to move south of the river, its how they keep their prices high while ours slump.
