Man dies in four-vehicle pile-up

A MOTOR cyclist was killed in a four-vehicle pile-up at Warrington.
The incident involved two cars and two motor cycles and occurred on the A579 Winwick Lane, Croft, near to Kenyon Hall Farm, shortly after 3pm yesterday (Sunday)
One of the motor cyclists, a 45-year- old man from the Wigan area, received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other motorcyclist, a 39-year-old man received a serious arm injury and is being treated at Warrington District General Hospital.
The families of those involved have been informed but names have yet to be released.
Specialist officers are now investigating the collision. Police are appealing for any persons who witnessed the collision or any driving prior to the collision to contact Cheshire Constabulary Northern Road Policing Unit 0845 458 000 extension 3813.
