POLICE are still seeking witnesses of a serious road crash which closed the A56 near Warrington for four hours.
A 45-year-old motor cyclist from Altrincham is detained in Warrington Hospital with serious injuries following the crash, which involved his red Ducati motorcycle and a red Renault Clio driven by a 49-year-old woman from High Legh.
The road reopened at 12.20pm after being closed in both directions at Agden Brow, Lymm, since 8.20am.
Police said the motor cyclist remained in a serious condition. His next of kin have been informed.
Anyone who witnessed the crash, or who has any information, is asked to contact PC Simon Degg of the Eastern Area Roads Policing Unit on 0845 458 0000.
