FIREFIGHTERS were called to a house at Stockton Heath, Warrington after the occupants reported a smell of smoke.
They found there had been a fire involving an electric meter in a utility room at a house in Ellesmere Road, but that it was out by the time they arrived.
Crews isolated the electricity supply and carried out checks before leaving.
Smoke detectors were fitted in the property but did not operate.
