Dragon boats
A DRAGON boat race is to take place at 10am today on the Mersey at Warrington to raise funds for St Rocco’s Hospice. The event takes place at Warrington Rowing Club where there will be refreshments and entertainment.

Hospital lottery
WINNING numbers in the weekly lottery run by the League of Friends of Warrington Hospital were 3, 4, 11 and 12. The jackpot prize went unclaimed and will be rolled over to next week. A £25 consolation prize was awarded to a member of hospital staff.

Dog show
A FUN dog show takes place tomorrow (Sunday) at Lymm Youth and Community Centre, Bridgewater Street, starting at 1pm. The event is being hosted by charity Cute for the Paw. Pets portraits will also be on show.

School canopy
PLANS for a canopy adjacent to the reception classroom at Appleton Thorn Primary School, Arley Road, Appleton Thorn, have been approved by borough planning bosses.

Fun day
FACE painting, games, inflatables and competitions will be staged at a free family fun day in the park opposition St Mark’s Church, Dallam, Warrington, supported by Youth for Christ and Urban Saints.

Dog therapy
PLANNING chiefs have approved a retrospective application permission to change the use of an outbuilding at Woodlands, Cross Lane, Risley to a dog hydrotheraphy business.
