THREE men armed with hammers and wearing balaclavas got away with cash from a Warrington club after threatening staff.
The raid was at the Royal British Legion in Stockport Road, Thelwall and left staff badly shaken, although unhurt.
Now detectives at Warrington are seeking help from members of the public.
The raid was in the early hours of today.
A female member of staff was closing the club, shortly after midnight, when she was confronted by the three men.
They forced their way into the premises, threatened staff and demanded money.
They then made off with a quantity of cash.
One man was 5ft 8 inches-5ft 9inches tall, of skinny build, with broad shoulders and stubble on his lip. He was wearing a black balaclava and a cotton tracksuit with a light blue emblem on the front.
A second man was taller, again with broad shoulders, and also wearing a balaclava.
Both offenders spoke with strong Liverpool accents.
A police spokesman said: “If you were in the area and saw the offenders outside, or if you saw anything suspicious in the area, please get in touch with DC Richard Kennedy at Warrington CID on 0845 458 0000.”
Alternatively calls can be made anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
