PLANNERS are to visit a caravan storage site at Warrington before deciding if controversial proposals to double its size can go ahead.
Members of the borough council’s planning sub-committee are to inspect the site off Warrington Road, Penketh.
Objections to the proposed increase in size have been received from Penketh Parish Council.
They say they have received complaints from neighbours who have to look out directly onto the caravan storage which is right behind their gardens and that there are also issues with the movement of caravans causing disturbance.
The parish council also claims there is currently no planning consent for anything on the site and such a change of use is not fitting within a residential area.
Currently, 12 caravans are stored on the site and the plan is to increase this to 24 by using adjacent land.
Officers say the site is not in the Green Belt and the principle of the development is acceptable.
Although the caravans are visible from properties in Warrington Road and Grange Drive, it is not considered the additional caravans would cause significant harm to the outlook.
