Town announce first new signing

WARRINGTON Town FC have announced their first signing for the new

campaign – 19-year-old goal scoring midfielder Anthony Hickey from local

rivals Bootle FC.
The youngster was a regular member of the promotion chasing North West Counties outfit who dumped Warrington out of the Liverpool Senior Cup last season.
Figuring in 35 games, he scored 14 times and was credited with 11 assists, as a player who likes to get up front.
The previous season he was a member of Bootle’s title winning reserve team, becoming a popular member of the first team squad last season, collecting seven man-of-the-match awards.
Town manager Joey Dunn said: “He is the first of four or five new signings we will be bringing to the club to strengthen the backbone of our team from last season.”
Dunn hopes to complete the other signings before the end of July.
