Man rescued from blaze

FIRE crews rescued a man from a smoke-filled flat at Stockton Heath, Warrington last night.
The blaze was in Ackers Lane and involved the kitchen.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hosereel jet on the fire, caused by an overheated pan on the cooker.
Extensive smoke and fire damage was caused in the kitchen and there was smoke damage throughout the property.
A man, suffering from the effects of smoke, was rescued from the property and given first aid prior to paramedics reached the scene.
