Olivia has her sights on Olympics

FORMER Lymm High School pupil Olivia Oakes has her sights set on the 2012 Olympics.
Rowing champion Olivia got interested in the sport through Project Oarsome at the school and started at Warrington Rowing Club when she was just 11. Since then she has won a host of competitions and is an honorary member of the club.
She is currently in her second year at University College London studying medicinal chemistry and is vice-captain of the University of London Boat Club, where she trains twice daily.
Olivia said she has a “clear and dedicated” commitment to development, training and sporting excellence.
For the past four years she has been part of the Great Britain Junior and Under 23 Squad.
Her achievements include being a Young Ambassador for Sport in association with the Youth Sport Trust, and she was also chosen as Warrington’s sports personality of the year last year.
She has also won gold medals in Coupe de la Jeunesse 2007 in Italy, World Firefighters Championships 2008, Liverpool, Australian Youth Olympics 2009, Sydney, Essen Regatta, Elite Quad at Women’s Henley 2009 and in Pair, Quad and four at British University Championships 2009.
