POLICE are searching for thieves who stole a woman’s car from the driveway of her house at Warrington after entering the property and taking her keys as she slept
The raid was between midnight and 4.30am on Wednesday (June 9) at a house in Cromdale Way, Great Sankey.
The woman was asleep on a sofa and was apparently not disturbed when the burglars entered the property via the unlocked front door.
They took her handbag and the keys to her Ford Focus, which was parked on the drive. They then drove off in the car.
Police believe the incident could be linked to another earlier the same evening when the number plates were stolen from a Nissan Qashqai parked near to the Butcher’s Arms pub in Liverpool Road, Great Sankey.
A green Ford Puma was also seen entering the car park at the Butcher’s Arms and police believe it could also be involved in the offences.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information regarding it is asked to contact DC Alex Reeves at Warrington CID on 0845 458 0000, or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
