Robbery at town centre store

POLICE at Warrington today issued an appeal for witnesses of a robbery at a shop in the town last night (Tuesday)
They are anxious to speak to anyone who saw the incident at the Farmfoods store in School Brow.
Around 5pm yesterday a man entered the store and threatened a 28-year-old cashier with a syringe which appeared to contain blood.
He grabbed cash from the till and then ran off in the general direction of the Asda store.
The cashier was unhurt but was left badly shaken.
Police say the store was extremely busy at the time with many people in the area. They want to speak to anyone who saw the robbery or noticed the offender as he ran away.
The man was in his late 30s, of scruffy appearance and was thin and of small build. He was wearing a blue or dark coloured hooded top and a blue baseball cap.
Anyone who can help police is asked to call DC Paul Fitton on 0845 458 000 or call the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
