New club is up and running

A NEW running club has been launched at Lymm and is already attracting up to 30 runners at mid-week sessions.
Lymm Runners started on a casual basis during the winter with a group of people giving themselves moral support during training runs. Now it was been established as a formal club.
Captain Chris Lees said: “The enthusiasm for a local run club has been staggering but not surprising. There are many runners and triathletes who live in the district of all standards and I for one had no doubt that a club could be created.”
Run leader co-ordinator Paul Fairbrother added: “We have an open policy whereby any standard of runner can come along and run in a suitably paced group in a safe environment.
“We are already seeing individuals getting faster, fitter and able to run further just in the short time we have been together”.
The club has set up a website at http://lymmrunners.wordpress.com where more information can be obtained.
Members say they have been exploring many paths, trails and back lanes in Lymm which make superb running routes.
The club has big plans for the future. It is already affiliated to the Association of Running Clubs and has distinctive new club kit on order.
They plan to organise their own races, training camps and club championships.
