Lake plunge driver is named

POLICE have today released the identity of a man who died after his four-wheel driver vehicle careered off the A49 near Warrington and plunged into a lake at the weekend.
He was James McLaron, aged 72, from Hartford near Northwich.
Emergency services rushed to the scene after the incident in Warrington Road, Lower Whitley, close to its junction with Raddell Lane, at about 1pm on Saturday. No other vehicle was involved and it is not known why Mr McLaron’s Land Rover should have left the road. It is not believed any other vehicle was involved.
A post mortem examination was being held today to try and establish the cause of death.
