We are the champions

CHALLENGES, including working through tangles of bungee web wearing sand-filled tracksuit pants, are on the cards for a bunch of Appleton youngsters.
A team from Broomfields Junior School will be battling for victory in CBBC’s Sport Relief “We are the Champions” with the help of their team coach, champion wheelchair basketball player Ade Adepitan.
The children’s show from the 1970s and 1980s is currently back for a special series for the charity on CBBC.
It will be hosted by popular comedian Paddy McGuinness.
Each team will be supported by a sporting celebrity team coach and the Broomfields pupils will compete against 11 other schools in a mix of fun and fast-paced races, both on land and water.
In the opening game Pairs of Pants they face the bungee web challenge in sand-filled trousers.
They also face a ballistic challenge to manoeuvre an enormous ball round an obstacle course and in Barrowball players are driven across rumble strips in a wheelbarrow.
The programme runs on CBBC and BBC this month.
