Vision Support from Miss Daresbury

NEWLY crowned Miss Daresbury Galaxy 2010 Catriona Cameron has hosted a black tie ball in aid of Cheshire based charity ‘Vision Support’.
The event took place at the Grosvenor Hotel in Chester to raise funds for free equipment, support and advice for people coping with blindness and visual difficulties.
Catriona, who is also the current reigning Miss Cheshire, suffers from Irlens Syndrome, an eye condition which makes it difficult for people to read, so is keen to support the work the charity does.
After a three course meal and entertainment from, ‘Casablanca Steps’, local celebrity Mike James of Chester Dee 106.3 Radio stepped up as DJ. Guests then bid in a charity auction for items such as signed scripts and photographs from top films, limited edition signed football shirts and a unique record signed by the musical legend ‘Michael Jackson’.
Catriona said: “There was such a good atmosphere, the guests had great fun and were more than happy to dig deep with generous donations for the charity.
“This is the first time that ‘Vision Support’ has staged an event of this scale. All the money raised will go directly back into the charity allowing ‘Vision Support’ to offer continued support within the local community.”
