Calling all brave buddhists

SUPERSTITIOUS staff at Warrington Museum are looking for a brave Buddhist to help them avoid a dreaded curse while renovation work takes place.
Workers are reluctant to shift a figure representing a Buddhist monk, when exhibits are moved from four of the buildings galleries during a two week closure, starting today March 15 to 27.
The mysterious exhibit, said to be cursed and thought to have been donated by a sea captain, has brought bad luck to everyone who has had contact with it.
Everyone, that is, except a Buddhist who moved the head once before apparently without injury.
Derek Dick, audience services officer from the museum once moved the head and suffered the consequences.
He said: “All the members of staff who have touched the head in the past have been involved in car accidents! It might but be a coincidence but no-one wants to risk it!”
Staff are now calling for willing Buddhists to volunteer to move the head for them. Anyone who can help should call the museum on 01925 442733.
Renovation work at the museum, funding by a grant from the WREN Communities Challenge Fund, is due to take place until October.
During term time the museum will be open on Monday to Friday from 12.30pm until 4.30pm. On Saturdays and school holidays it will open from 10am until 4.30pm.
Holiday activities will still run on Tuesdays and Thursdays during Easter, half term and the summer holidays.
