Schools out for some!

ALL High Schools in Warrington will remain closed today giving an extended holiday for thousands of youngsters due to the snow and ice conditions which are continuing across the town, although 17 primary schools are planning to open as normal.
A handful of schools have decided to remain closed until next Monday, including Birchwood Primary School, St Margaret’s Primary School nursery and Foxwood Special School.
Those primary schools opening are: Alderman Bolton Community Primary, Brook Acre Community Primary, Callands Primary, Culcheth Community Primary, Culcheth Community Primary, Gorse Covert Primary, Great Sankey Primary, Locking Stumps Community Primary, Newchurch Community Primary, Our Lady’s Catholic Primary,
St Andrew’s CE Primary, St Augustine’s Catholic Primary, St Bridget’s Catholic Primary, St Thomas’ CE Primary, Stretton St Matthew’s CE Primary and Twiss Green Community Primary.
Glazebury CE Primary planned to open today but was unable to do so.
All Warrington Borough Transport Bus services are planning to operate a normal service although buses will not be entering some housing estates and side roads on safety grounds. For full details contact the customer helpline on 01925 634296.
Meanwhile thousands of children across Warrington have taken advantage of the time off with the sledgers being out in force across the town – with many youngsters experiencing sledging properly for the first time.
Popular hot spots for sledging were Lymm Dam, land near Warrington Golf Club and the Dingle at Appleton.
The snowy conditions could be around for some time, with more snow forecast for Warrington on Monday after freezing conditions over the weekend.
