A CHRISTMAS lantern parade will be taking place in Warrington town centre on the evening of Thursday, December 17.
It will leave Old Market Place at 6pm, led by the Anvil Street Drummers and will tour the town centre before returning for a carol concert at 7pm. Hot drinks will be available.
Taking part in the concert will be the Salvation Army, Cheshire Chord Company and Little Stars Singers.
The parade is open to all and those taking part can make their own lantern at home or make one at free workshops to run at The Pyramid on Thursday, December 10 (4-6pm) and Warrington Museum on Saturday, December 12 (10am-2.30pm)
The workshops will be suitable for all aged eight years and over, although children must be accompanied by an adult.
Places should be booked in advance by calling Rea on 01925 444089 or emailing [email protected]
A council spokeswoman said: “If you are making a lantern at home, please remember to light it with a battery powered torch or LED light. Unfortunately for safety reasons, any lanterns lit by a naked flame will not be allowed to participate.”
