Hospital lottery
A £915 jackpot prize went begging when the winning numbers – 4,7,10 and 11 – were drawn in the weekly lottery run by the League of Friends of Warrington Hospital.
But two consolation prizes were awarded, £50 for a hospital visitor and £25 to a member of staff.
The jackpot will be rolled over to next week.

New windows
PLANNING chiefs have given the go ahead for the replacement of windows, re-plastering of floors and ceiling and part replacement of the existing roof and part demolition of a gable wall at the Grade 2 listed Prince of Wales pub in Scotland Road, Warrington.

Santa’s visit
FATHER Christmas is to visit Grappenhall Heys Walled Garden tomorrow (Sunday) to host a festive fair. There will be mulled wine, cakes, hotdogs, tomobola, crafts, cards and other attractions. The event starts just before 1pm and continues until 4pm.

Change of use
LAND at Warrington Road, Fowley Common , Culcheth currently used for the display and sale of touring caravans can be used for the display and sale of commercial vehicles, Warrington planners have agreed.

Flat refusal
OFFICES at Knitwire Products, Thelwall New Road Industrial Estate, Thelwall, Warrington can not be converted into apartments, planners have ruled.

Open church
ALL Saints Church, Thelwall will be open between 10am and 4pm today (Saturday) for a day of prayer for world peace. Visitors will be able to light a candle for loved ones – particularly those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

School shop
PLANS to convert changing rooms at the leisure centre at Lymm High School, in Oughtrington Lane, Lymm, into a school shop and office have been given the go-ahead by Warrington planners.
