MORE people in Warrington with children may be entitled to help with their rent and council tax.
Government changes to the benefit system mean that people who were not eligible for help before may be entitled to help from Monday November 2.
Adrian Webster, the council’s benefit manager said: “We will no longer have to take child benefit payments into account when working out how much housing and council tax benefit customers will receive.
“This change means that hundreds more families in Warrington will qualify for benefit.”
Anyone interested in making a claim for either benefit should contact Mike Andrews, the council’s benefit take up officer on 01925 442336 or by writing to him at PO Box 13, 21 Rylands Street, Warrington, WA1 1BN or email at revenues&[email protected]
