Opportunities for the over 50s

A NEW initiative exploring professional opportunities for the over 50s launches in Warrington on Thursday (October 8).
The “Time and Experience” initiative will be explained at an open meeting at Lymm Village Hall.
It is supported by the North West Development Agency and also involves the University of Chester and will highlight opportunities available to semi-retired or retired professionals.
Julia Evans, operations director of Time and Experience said: “Professionals and executives may feel they want to give something back to their communities or to younger people; others want to pursue an idea for which they previously hadn’t enough time.
“At the same time, there are companies, organisations and voluntary bodies who don’t have vacancies for permanent paid employees but could use a little help from someone familiar with their problems.
“What makes Time and Experience special is that it facilitates discussion across the widest possible range of opportunities, encompassing employment, project work, consultancy, self-employment and business start-up, social enterprise and voluntary work.”
“Whatever members are thinking of doing, whatever their qualifications and experience, and whatever organisations in the North West are looking for, Time and Experience will help by putting individual and corporate members in touch with one another or by signposting to companies and specialist bodies. The aim is to give free unpressurised guidance and support, to foster knowledge transfer and to forge self-determined alliances.”
Membership to the organisation is free to the first 600 applicants. Anyone who would like to find out more can attend the open meeting taking place at Lymm Village Hall on October 8 at 2.30pm.
There is no need to pre-book. For further information please visit www.timeandexperience.org.uk or call 01544 340291 or 01244 511810.
