AN inquest has opened at Warrington on tragic murder victim Nicola Sutton, whose body was found with stab wounds at a house in Birchwood more than two years ago.
The hearing before Cheshire coroner Nicholas Rheinberg is expected to last at least five days.
Nicola Sutton, 22, (pictured) was murdered in 2006 and her former partner, Barry Stone, 31 was later arrested in Orford and charged with her murder.
But subsequently he was found hanged in a cell at Leeds Prison where he was being held, pending his trial for murder.
Stone had previously been jailed for four and-a-half years for inflicting grievous bodily harm on Nicola.
But he was released after serving just 27 weeks of the sentence.
