FUN family events took place at five children’s centres in Warrington as part of the first National Sure Start Children’s Centre Week.
The aim was to celebrate the success of children’s centres across the country in securing the best start in life for under fives.
Children’s Centres who took part by hosting a celebration event were The Woodlands Children’s Centre in Birchwood, Westy Children’s Centre in Stockton Heath, Sunshine Children’s Centre and Sandy Lane Children’s Centre in Orford and the Callands Children’s Centre.
The events were all aimed at families with children under school age and gave parents and children the opportunity to meet other local families, take part in fun activities and access information and guidance on topics including parenting, childcare, child development and personal development courses.
Health services, Families Information Service, Childminder Network, Family Learning and Family Support services, Citizens Advice Bureau and Kids Planet childcare were just a few of the services who attended to let parents know about the support available to them and their children.
Every event offered fun activities on the day for children including circus skills, messy play, badge making, face paints, bubbles, storytime, T-shirt making, drum workshop, crafts and family entertainers including Zippy Lee and Kevin the Clown.
