Bowlers' best-ever season

CULCHETH Sports Club have had their most successful Crown Green bowling season ever with the Thursday night team winning Section A of the Newton and District Bowling League.
This means promotion to The Premiership for the first time ever in the club’s 40-year bowling history.
The successful squad won the league by a convincing margin of eight points, winning 17 out of their 20 matches.
Captain for the last 11 years, Steve Grimshaw, said: “I would like to thank and congratulate the whole squad on a tremendous achievement.”
